Erwin Weerstra




B I O G R A P H Y
Erwin Weerstra was admitted to the Young Talent Department of the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague at the age of seven. During his studies, he won the international Steinway Competition twice.
In 2011, he finished his Master's Degree in Classical Piano at the Royal Conservatoire with Distinction. In 2018, Erwin was selected to study in Italy under the supervision of Professor Andrzej Jasiลski.
Erwin also studied composition with Daan Manneke, Roderik de Man, and Yannis Kyriakides.
Erwin is a prize winner of several international competitions. Most recently, he won the Absolute First Prize in the Beethoven International Music Competition UK 2025 for his composition “Il Vicolo Verde” and the 2nd prize of the Concorso Internazionale di Composizione "Orazio Michi dell'Arpa" for his composition “Cari Lumi Che Pietosi”
He is an active performer, with engagements in his native Netherlands and abroad in Italy, Russia, Germany, Austria, Spain, the UK, Switzerland, and Poland.
Besides his concert engagements, Erwin works as a pianist at the Netherlands Dance Theatre (NDT).
